3 Day Semliki birding and Batwa Experience safari is a package crafted to Semliki National Park ‘The Birds Haven” In Bundibugyo approximately 70km away from Fort Portal Town. Still this package will enable us to visit and associate with the Batwa pygmies in the nearby local communities experience their unique cultures and vibrant cultural dances. These Batwa people are commonly known as hunters and food gatherers who used to get their food, medicine, shelter from forest before new changes of the world. While on this birding safari you will spot hundreds of bird species as Semliki National Park Has over 500 bird species. These will include the famous Shoebill stock, blue swallow, black heron, pied king fisher, white throated blue swallow, swamp palm bulbul, weaver birds among others. Still on Our safari we shall visit the female and male hot springs of Sempaya, learn the myths and experience the strength of geothermal energy. Its unfortunate that forests and jungles where the Batwa people used to dwell in turned up in to farmlands and gazetted national parks which makes it hard for them to continue with their traditional life style though still practice their culture norms and behaviors.
